Communication

Have you ever been really feeling someone, and then all of a sudden their convo just start getting dry as ya Auntie cooking. ( The one you don’t eat from cause she gave ya whole family food poisoning on Christmas.) So I’m finally at a point where I stop trying to force conversation. 

If we’re talking and the conversation goes dry....it’s just dead for me. I’m all for comfortable silence, but I’m not for a one sided conversation. This isn’t even just for relationships or entanglements. This is for friendships as well. I recently had a very entertaining Black is King night with my inner circle  where we all talked about various subjects, but the one thing I realized is that I never had to watch what I said.

This is another thing we discussed. The older I’ve gotten the less tolerant I’ve become. When I was younger I had several different friend groups, and I couldn’t truly be myself in any of them. For instance I had friends who always wanted to tell me about their sex life, but never wanted to hear about mine. Not doing that kind of shit anymore. If I’m trying to communicate with you, with no luck. The relationship is a dead issue... and when I say relationship I mean friendships as well. I refuse to have any one sided relationships of any kind anymore.

 The one thing I had to do was get that dumb ass meme out of my mind that says we may not talk for months or years blah blah blah. Bullshit. Listen, I’m sorry if that’s how you feel. The people in my inner circle we all have lives, and at least once a week before the pandemic I would hear from every one of them. Now more so cause we’re all just bored! You may not like what I’m saying, and that’s ok. You’re  allowed to have your opinion, but the one thing I think of is this. 

You’re not going to walk back into my life when you feel it’s convenient for you. Every relationship takes work and compromise, and the minute you stop communicating is the minute that stops being a healthy relationship of any kind.
